The mentor program is a key part of our overall candidate development program. It is intended to put CPCU in touch with candidates to encourage and support them as they advance through their course of studies. The role of a mentor will NOT require a major commitment of your time. What we ask of the mentor is to reach out to your candidate - make a phone call. Let the candidate know that you are there to provide support any way that you can. You're not expected to be a tutor, but you might be able to find them help. You could also encourage them to join you at one of our luncheon meetings as a guest of the chapter. By reaching out, the mentor can help build a relationship which will progress from the candidate stage to the new designee and will carry over to developing a future active member of the chapter.
